It’s around the world in 80 dishes at Epcot right now! The 20th Annual Epcot Food and Wine Festival in the Walt Disney World Resort is a paradise for food and wine lovers, with “Taste Your Way Around the World.” Over 30 international kiosks are dishing out global gastronomical goodies to record-breaking numbers of attendees. Thousands of samples are being served every day, including gardein meat-free dishes!
Gardein is being featured at the Greece kiosk, in a moussaka with meat-free sausage crumbles, and at the South Korea kiosk, in a Korean BBQ plate. The Korean BBQ, which included gardein beefless tips served over rice and cucumber kimchi, was a fan favorite, and was even featured on the Disney Food Blog as a ‘can’t-miss’ and ‘Best of the Fest’!
Gardein’s Executive Chef, Jason Stefanko, also made a guest appearance last week at the Culinary Demonstrations, with a 45 minute-demo teaching a large audience how to make the perfect fishless taco. At the “Party for the Senses,” Chef Jason joined celebrity chefs such as Iron Chef’s Cat Cora, Hell’s Kitchen winner Rock Harper, and Twitter’s Executive Chef, Adam Mali, in cooking up a culinary showcase for over 1000 attendees.
Chef Jason and the gardein team served up a Deconstructed Fishless Taco, featuring a crispy fishless filet served over a roasted corn and red quinoa pilaf with tomatillo sauce, tropical salsa, and a smoky chipotle crema drizzle. It was a huge hit, with guests coming back for thirds, and buzzing throughout the party about how unbelievably tasty the fishless filets were!
