Fishless Filet Sandwiches

This fast food restaurant copycat recipe for a plant-based fish filet sandwich will make you skip the drive-thru for good after just one taste. Vegan cheese and a homemade tartar sauce make this the perfect plant-based food swap for a classic fish sandwich. Recipe by Thee Burger Dude.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Earth Balance® MindfulMayo, divided
  • 2 tablespoons Vlasic® Sweet Relish
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon drained capers, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon vegan Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 pkg (10.1 oz each) Gardein® Golden Fishless Filets
  • 3 hamburger buns
  • 3 slices American flavor vegan cheese slices
  • 9 slices Vlasic® Ovals Hamburger Dill Chips

Directions

  • Step one

    Set aside about 2 tablespoons mayo. Place remaining 6 tablespoons in a small bowl with next 11 ingredients (through salt and pepper) to make tartar sauce. Stir to combine well, cover and refrigerate at least 30 minutes.

  • Step two

    Preheat oven to 450°F. Bake Gardein® Golden Fishless Filets according to package directions.

  • Step three

    On a second baking sheet lined with foil, place split hamburger buns cut side up and spread reserved mayo over each. Place in preheated oven 3 minutes or until just starting to brown. Add slice of vegan cheese to each bottom bun and return to oven to melt, about 1 minute.

  • Step four

    Add 2 fishless filets to each bottom bun, top with tartar sauce and pickle slices. Add top bun and serve immediately. Enjoy!
